Coaching

You are probably not reading this website in a straight line from beginning to end. Chances are you landed directly on this section. Let us briefly bring you up to speed: if you had started from the homepage, you would already understand that we, two dancers, are also coaches.

Forget (for a moment) about dance. When it comes to coaching and personal growth, dance is merely a means — an entry point. In our work, we see how important it is to understand what drives someone, what blocks them, what makes them afraid, happy, angry or sad, what energises them, exhausts them, bores them, or gives them joy.

The goal or performance can be dancing at a high competitive level. But it can just as well be feeling better in your own body, dealing more effectively with work pressure, improving collaboration with colleagues, communicating better with your partner, finding more calm in your free time, or discovering and protecting your personal boundaries. These and other development questions can be explored with the help of a coach, allowing you to work towards your goals in a structured and intentional way.

When Paul coaches

When I coach, there comes a point where mutual trust develops. The person I coach allows me into their life, thoughts and emotional world. I do not take that for granted, and it creates a deep sense of respect in me. I often hear back that it is precisely this respect and sense of safety that allows doors to open — and to stay open.

You grow

The moment you decide to involve a coach in your process, you are already growing. In essence, you are giving yourself a valuable gift and confirming that you are willing to invest energy in yourself.

“Coach” is not a protected profession, which can make it challenging to find someone with the right skills to truly support your development. During my work as a dance coach, I discovered that I also greatly enjoy coaching in a broader context. At the same time, I noticed that I am able to create calm, safety and trust — the foundation for growth through coaching. This led me to formally train as a (psychodynamic) coach.

Whether I am your coach is something I cannot determine here. It requires more than what can be communicated on a website. I have the experience and training — but whether it truly works can only be discovered in a first meeting. A conversation I genuinely look forward to.
